Today, I am going to show you the proper way of flashing the stock ROM of any MediaTek powered device using SP Flash tool. If you customize your smartphone more often, chances of getting into trouble such as firmware damage are possible. In that case, there is an available tool to help you with that problem. Smart Phone Flash Tool (SP Flash Tool) is a software used for flashing MediaTek firmware and readback to backup full dump ROM of your device.

Things you need

• Your device stock ROM
• Desktop with Windows operating system
• SP Flash Tool (Latest version)

Flash MediaTek Firmware using SP Flash Tool

1. Install MediaTek USB VCOM Preloader driver.
   • Install USB VCOM Driver in Windows 7
   • Install USB VCOM Driver in Windows 8 up to the latest
2. Create a folder in your desktop and place all the files in one folder, in that way you can easily access the files.
3. Turn off your device and unplug it from the computer.
4. Open SP Flash tool folder, find flash_tool.exe and right click and run it as Administrator.
5. Turn off your device and unplug it from the computer.
6. From the main screen of SP Flash tool, click scatter-loading button and browse the Android scatter file inside the stock ROM folder.
7. Prepare the USB cable, plug the USB cable into the computer but do not plug the other end of the USB cable in your Android phone.
8. This step is important, from SP Flash Tool, you will see the list of files that are checked, uncheck preloader.bin if your smartphone is only bootloop or stuck in logo otherwise make sure all the files are checked. Click Download button.

NOTE: You will only change it to firmware upgrade if the firmware you are going to flash is updated than your current firmware or the older version of your device firmware.

• Now while holding volume up or down, you may now plug the other end of USB cable to your Android phone. Do not release the volume button until you see a red progress bar in SP flash tool
  .
• Whenever you see a yellow progress bar you can now release the volume down and wait for the process to finish. A green check icon will appear once done.
• Once the flashing process is completed, boot your device into recovery mode. Do a factory reset and reboot your device
